Reconsider Illustration

Archaeologists Drawing Conclusions

Record and Rethink

Whether it's in old ways, new ways, or somewhere in between, we try to make the past visible.

Illustrations, models, and maps - oh my!

Whether you're looking to learn more about images in archaeology, looking for inspiration for your own work, or shopping around for images for your next project, this section offers a gallery of the work that we do. Click to see more.

Anything I can do, you can do!

Check out the Reconsider Illustration blog for tutorials and advice for how to make your own visualizations.

About me

Rosemary Hanson

Archaeologist and Illustrator

American archaeological illustrator based in Sweden. Received an MSc in Material Culture and Artefact Studies from the University of Glasgow in 2020 with a focus in archaeological illustration, archaeological modeling, and archaeological ethics. With a background in early childhood education, my visualizations focus on the intersection between archaeological theory, accurate record, and accessibility.

Commissions and Costs

The cost of visualizations will depend on the materials, constraints, and goals of each project.  Not sure what you want? Consultations are always free! Just send us an email.
