Sites, Landscapes, and Maps
Visualizing the context of archeological discovery has a rich and deep history, from early sketches of Grand Tour stops, to the precise lines of archeological site drawings, to the grainy site photographs of the Victorians. These days, hardly a year goes by without a new means of recording sites and structures in ever more intricate and photorealistic ways. Though my research focuses on archeological objects, these objects don't just exist in a vacuums, floating freeform in space. Context is vital in understanding archeological objects, and no good illustrator can get by without the tools for visualizing it in their toolkit!
