Metal

Metal objects are deceptive. We imagine metal in the past as a hard, strong, and lasting substance, but it is often quite the opposite. Metal from the past can often be remarkably frail, delicate, and changeable. Corrosion may have worn away the smooth lines and structural integrity. Intricate forms may have bent into ever more elusive shapes, and colors may have changed through time and chemical reaction. Time changes everything, and metal is no different.
