Objects are often sites of memory - whether we want them to be or not. They become aids to recollection, memorials, and surrogates for those that are dead. The images in this section come from a project to explore the immaterial properties of an heirloom - in this case, a piece of costume jewelry.

Entangled Objects

This small piece of costume jewelry is entangled in a dense web of memory across time: of obligation, age, death, childhood, love, archeological study, digitization, and the connection to the dead that lingers on through their material remains.
