Creepiness

Sometimes, things give us the creeps. There's no logic to it, we just suddenly feel unsettled or unsafe and we can't quite explain why. As an archeologist, I have walked through museum storage on a dark, winter's evening and suddenly felt inexplicably uncomfortable. I knew it wasn't rational, but it was real to me then, and I was never so happy to put a box on the shelf and hurry away. Drawing from the visual languages of horror movies and Halloween specials, we can begin to visualize this experience - subjective though it may be.
